First, I finished SMN to 66 within a matter of hours of writing my last entry. Neither of the parties were anything to write home about.
First was with another SMN, which proved my point once again, I was only there because they had failed to find refresh. The second SMN mostly just, summoned.
Second was almost a meripo styled party sync’d at 55. The WAR/NIN leader didn’t want to tank, but he was also the only provoke… and he really never wanted to use it unless he had his shadows cast first. So here I was getting beaten down to double digits, staring at the screen as he’s casting Utsusemi : Ichi. Had it not been for the two BLUs using a lot of carrots and the DNC in the party, I would’ve died far more often than I did. Despite the unconventionalism of the party, I did end with a nearly 7k buffer into 66 on SMN.
Yesterday morning I shifted and started working on DRK again, or well… at least its artifact. Knocked out the boot quest quick and easily (although, I do recommend taking that first NM a little more seriously than I did… NIN/DNC, wasn’t even on my NIN pallet of macros, didn’t have shadows up and no TP built up… was very quicky taken down to half health). Found the Eldieme coffer on the main map, was able to pick it on my first try as THF, gauntlets obtained. Great! I thought, considering DRG AF was quite quick and easy as well, I head over to Davoi to farm that key… and I shit you not, I was there for over five hours. I was roughly a little over 800exp from recapping my THF buffer, I capped it, gained another 2k in merits… died when I went afk for food… reraise down 1400, recap buffer again, and gain another almost 1k before this key finally drops. I had obtained five warrior testimonies, almost a full stack of gold beatcoins stolen, roughly 10 BS and KS, a dragoon and ranger testimony. By the time I finally got it and went to Oztroja for my last key, I was simply… annoyed. Oztroja at least was fairly quick, I estimate about 30 minutes there. Switching over to DRK and finding the coffers though, I died on each. Yags saw me popping the Oztroja coffer, and I died while traveling to Monastic Caverns, a random easy prey warmachine saw me and linked five orcs with it.
My only thought is SE saying, “She’s too perky to be a DRK. We need to depress her, make her emo. Then she can be a true DRK.”
Still need to kill Dark Spark and I have the Mage’s Blood for the AF3 fight, recruiting help for that later tonight.
The day was completely redeemed by an amazing Beaucedine run last night. I’m still rather speechless on it. I think as a whole, ballpark 15 armor pieces dropped and a couple 100s. But my favorite was…
Cyclas was my #3, was looking to be freelot if I hadn’t listed it at all. Doublet was freelot 60+. Tabard though, was my #1. Whether I’ve been actively after it or not (especially considering I’ve passed on the past few I’ve seen), I have been drooling over it solidly for the past five years. RDM was my first job, and still my first love… slowly morphed into a bit of a bastard step-child few seem to realize I have anymore. I decided to pass no more, I wanted it… and I won with a roll of 910. Although I’ll probably never own the chapeau, I’m at least quite content. MNK now sits at 4/5, SMN 2/5 and RDM 3/5.
This morning I started the day by piecing together my ranger since I obtained the testimony yesterday. I over prepared for this fight, I should know better from the past jobs I’ve fought him at 75 and I wasted a 9k icarus wing for absolutely no reason. But fight over with.
Ten fights down, just five more to go… with three more jobs to level.
Then went on seek as DRK immediately after. Got a 35 sync party to Garlaige that netted me three levels by the time we disbanded. Still on seek as a 53. Please invite me!
