Ever since Forochel was opened and made available, I’ve been wanting a tundra (“furry”) pony on Polecat. Really not sure why, as most everyone refers to it as the fugliest mount in the game… and I’m not really that inclined to disagree. But I always felt the oddness of it fit the personality of a hobbit burglar, especially one that’s modeled after a weasel.
I started off the day today just a little over 4000 rep left to go, and for most of it, only one hub was available for quests. At some point in the evening two more opened up and I was still left 900 rep short. So after a few hours of leveling Cinquefoil with Marmaman, I decided to just say fuckit and I farmed two stacks of spear-heads, one stack of gauradan claws and was lucky to get one single lossoth luistin. Luistins give 700 rep each for just one, since they’re a rare drop… so I only needed that and one stack of the spear-heads and I saw this beautiful text cross my screen:

The result:
Not sure what I’ll be doing with her next. I have a lot of deeds to grind out still to raise traits, and she’s still on Book 8 of Volume I… I would like to see her complete the first volume some day. We’ll see. Polecat right now resides primarily as my “fart around while I seek for hours on a low invite job on FFXI”. So I have a lot of potential to find stupid shit to fill my time with when playing around on her.
Past couple days I’ve also managed to push Polecat’s jeweller to grand master. Marmaman’s metalsmithing to master artisan. And Cinquefoil’s woodworking to master artisan.
Cinq and Mar are also sitting at 41 right now, roughly half way. David’s getting more excited, especially since he knows he’ll be able to get his first legendary weapon at 45. I might kick him in the balls if he dares to try to name anything Sting though. Tried to pull a group together to do the Tomb of Elendil quest tonight, but failed to do so. I really want David to do it too, such a wonderful storyline to watch that sword be reforged and learn why Annuminas is submerged under water… very much worth it.
