David and I have managed to continue leveling our hobbits together, and last night we dinged 51… which makes both of mine the same level (although Polecat is really close to 52 at this point). They’ve been progressing at a fairly decent rate… our duo has finished all the Eregion quests and have now moved into the Great Delving of Moria. Exploring around Moria is pretty exciting, you truly get a feel for its greatness as you run through it. The ceilings are about a thousand meters above us, great stone carvings of dwarves… and it’s an active mine and very easy to fall off a bridge to your death (we tested this on purpose).

I’ve been able to buy pretty much all the mentoring in musics off the AH, and finally found a bagpipes mentoring scroll for under 20g… was a little over 5g. I’m broke, but when I ran up to David’s hobbit and used the ability… his reaction was worth the effort. Started dashing around like a headless chicken to find the nearest bard just to buy some bagpipes for himself, then proceeded to play all his song files for the next half hour to hear how each sounded.

He’s also sporting his rabbit mask in this picture… since it is Harvestmath Festival right now. Been mostly wearing his bucket mask though.
As far as Polecat goes, she’s still lagging around waiting for the all clear to play her freely. Since we finished Eregion together, I can now take her through that zone. Been mostly grinding out a few deeds on her to improve her virtue traits. Past few days I’ve killed 150 bog lurkers in Lone Lands, over 300 salamanders in Evendim, 350 crawlers in Trollshaws, explored Annuminas and have plans of killing another 300 worms and wolves in Trollshaws as well. It’s mind numbing, mostly because burglars have zero ranged abilities… the idea is you’re supposed to stealth and surprise attack at melee range. On top of that, burglar’s aren’t high damage with the exception with the 1:30 minute cooldown on Aim, which makes sure my Surprise Strike will crit… so the kills are overall painfully slow and makes my head wish to implode. Bog lurkers were so far the worst deed for me to complete. They only spawn in one small general area of Lone Lands, Haragmar and Agamaur. Haragmar they’re normal mobs, Agamaur they’re elites. I tried the elites for awhile, easy to solo, but obnoxiously slow kills… so I moved back to the Haragmar area… and the issue with this area is that all the mobs share spawn points with each other. One time you’ll get the bog lurker, the next it’s a neekerbreaker or wight instead. On top of this, half the time the lurkers spawn stealthed and stay stealthed… so I logged David’s 21 minstrel on, put him to follow Polecat… and used him to aggro everything out of hiding. By the end of the night, Habe (his minstrel) was nearly 23. Even though I didn’t have to kill that many lurkers… it still took me three hours to complete just because of that bullshit.
When it comes to FFXI… I’ve just been very unmotivated to log in lately. To the point I’ll log into POL and sit on the click play screen for hours and find the stupid shit of killing bog lurkers a better option for my time. Samurai still sits at 58, and because I have the quote of, “Level Sync 55+” in my comment because I’m tired of messing with sync gear, invites are a little few and far between (which makes little sense to me). It’s just the lack of the social and exploration factor it used to have for me that’s really the biggest downfall. The community isn’t as friendly as welcoming as it used to be, it has aged too much and mostly replaced by egotistical jackasses… I just feel far more aggravated each day than I do happy to be playing.

Regardless though… Dynamis-Quifim I walked out with two more pieces of artifact. Mostly through the egging of Dreadnot, I picked up DRK for the fuck of it. BST I sit at 4/5 and need gloves to finish the set and store. Last week in San d’Oria, I obtained my Commodore Culottes and have that set stored as well (just too lazy to make a picture).
