With the sidetracks of Thanksgiving, David’s finals in college, etc… we haven’t really been able to muster time to set aside for the hobbits the past few weeks. Where I still have been leveling Mazurka in my spare time (now 39), I haven’t been highly motivated to push her further than what she currently is.
Cinquefoil and Marmaman though, were able to ding 58 yesterday evening in Lothlorien. The entire zone is a complete day/night contrast to the annoyance of Moria. Very beautiful, looks very much like the eastern US forested areas, and the quests are mostly repeatable gathering quests for reputation. Not gathering in, “kill this mob for these items,” but gathering in, “just go pick up these items off the ground.” It was unexpected, since the first three little quest hub camps are kill so many of X mob, and once you are acquaintance with the Galadhrim, you gain access to the rest of the map and it was so relaxing. David and I didn’t even really quest together the whole night, just spread out and did our own thing since we didn’t need to stick next to each other to share experience… because we only killed something if it aggroed us (which very, very little will in that part of the zone, at least not without warning).
I also yesterday, was able to finally max level that first legendary mace Cinq had. Was very glad to reforge it, have all my settings returned, and then immediately smash it apart. Received a 100,000 item exp token, which I then used on my second age mace, which I far more prefer (named Mazurka as well, but only because I theme all her legendaries after music genres… or to be cheesier, the main songs from FFXI’s bard).
Was around level 26 (can’t remember off the top of my head) by the time I logged off, and at the time I took the picture, I hadn’t slotted any relics yet. It’s a nice little damage mace though, which seems to be the norm for minstrel weapons. No healing legacies, just damage… and the healing tend to be secluded to the songbooks.
Mirkwood launches on Tuesday. Quite excited and anxious about that. Really not quite sure what to look forward too. LOTRO doesn’t have nearly the following it needs as far as player input for informational sites. In fact, if the game quest tracker doesn’t tell you where to go, you’re for the most part… shit out of luck, because it’s a massive shot in the dark and pray to find anything online. Trying to figure out which NPC sells what, etc… nearly impossible. This is a massive frustration for me. And since Turbine invoked a Non Disclosure Agreement on the beta testers for the expansion, the amount of information seems very minimal and very cluttered… hard to sort through.
One thing I know for certain though, is the class books are going to be buyable from the class trainers, and all pages are drops. Definite bonus, as I was glancing at the books on the AH for hunter yesterday, average around 5g… which is insane. I’m leveling Mazurka to be my money maker, and the thought of spending that much made my heart skip a few beats.
