5th Anniversary

5th Anniversary

Two days ago I received an email with the subject line of, “Kristine – Celebrate World of Warcraft’s 5th Anniversary with 7 Days of Game Time.” Basically meaning, they’ve given me seven free days to poke at my account.

Not wanting to go through the patch process off my discs, I opted to download this time since my theory was, “more up to date and faster”. Took about three and a half hours, so not sure how sound my theory was, regardless… I log in and glance at my characters for the first time in nearly a year and I’m clueless. Spent another three hours trying to configure my UI back to what I used to have. Had saved my old directory, but back around May, I transferred everything off the original HD, since it was dying, and I knew some files/folders didn’t make it over… seems nearly all of my old Add Ons folder got hit. So trying to remember what addons I used to use has been a struggle.

Being as clueless as I am, and really uncertain of how many changes have taken place (since I believe it’s been two major patches this year, and there were quite a few hunter changes)… I’ve been using Winona only as a powerleveler for Virelai, my druid. So far I have leveled her from 54 to 57. One big change as far as Timbermaw goes, is I hit honored with them within two hours. I remember farming that rep for over eight hours on Edle. 20 rep per kill on a normal, 40 or 60 on the named ones. Just… insane.

Virtually everyone I knew on my server is now either transferred to another, or quit. The amount of effort it’d take to transfer yet again, probably faction change, and meet new people is a major discouragement. My motivation to keep playing is beyond minimal… so right now, I’m just taking it as a nice week to poke at patch changes and nothing more.

Besides, I’m very much preoccupied by hobbits and elves~ ;)
