Loot for Dom? Really?

Loot for Dom? Really?

After picking up little to no loot (due to no drops) for the past several weeks for Dominika… last night was almost a slap in the face… but in a good sense.

Started off with Lady Deathwhisper dropping [Handgrips of Frost and Sleet], but since I already purchased [Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter’s Handguards] two weeks ago, I’m pretty sure they went to Texr’s dps offspec. The lootboat event dropped [Icecrown Rampart Bracers], and Saurfang followed up by dropping [Hauberk of a Thousand Cuts]. I’m now sitting on a GearScore of about 5300. In comparison to other guildies, I’m on the low-side of gear… but they’ve all first hand witnessed my bad luck on drops, and anything I rolled on, the general conversation on vent was, “That’s just going straight to Kristine.” Granted, right now I’m the only mail wearing DPS main raiding in the guild (only one other hunter, and he’s not geared enough for ICC yet).

We ended the raid after Saurfang due to one of our DPSers, the rogue, needing to leave an hour and a half after we started. Since he’s one of our core, and one of our heaviest DPS, we felt it was a better option to just call ICC for the night, and to continue Festergut and Rotface (which we still have not downed) tonight. With this extra time last night, we decided to throw together a ToC 10 regular… and wound up with about half the raid never having been there before. We took nearly three hours to clear, had multiple wipes on each boss, but David on Cogswell had an absolute blast. Raid didn’t end till around 11:30pm for us, and even though he went into work at 8 this morning, not a single complaint out of him, he had a ton of fun. I wound up healing on Nadzia for half the run, and switched to boomkin on the Faction Champions event so I could cyclone. Healing was interesting for me, was exceptionally tired and not feeling well last night, so it was a definite stretch for me in the first place… felt very relieved when I had the opportunity to switch.

Been spending a lot of time with David since he hit 80 about two and a half weeks ago running heroics, healing him as Nadzia, trying to gear him out. Usually drag along a few other guildies who are also undergeared (namely the other hunter). It has been a slow, mind-numbing, and sometimes pretty frustrating process as loot I want for them doesn’t drop, or I see them not running heroics and progressing without me there with them. As the guild has been shifting further still, the focus on ICC, trying to piece together lesser raids such as ToC are pretty rare now, and slows the process down even more so. We’re a small guild, and we often don’t have the roles of people we need (be it one tank, or a DPS that can do enough damage) outside of the primarily scheduled raids. But David is now about 4300 on his score, and I’ve been able to witness first hand his damage slowly improving. He still needs around 150 more emblems to finish out everything he can buy from vendors, the rest will just have to come from lucky raid drops.

Now about a week and a half ago I decided to make another attempt at a rogue alt, and resulted in Felcia. Nothing amazing with her yet, and in fact, keeping my attention on her has been difficult. I decked her out in about as much heirloom gear as I can muster, and any time I come across a quest with a stupidly low drop rate (rat ears, anyone?), I just drift off. My goal for her is purely a farming character. Picked up herbalism so I can drop it on Dom, and perhaps pick up LW with her… completely undecided, and I won’t drop it till after Felcia’s capable of farming Northrend herbs. She will most likely also be the first to break the mold of my past three characters, and not level into epic flight. Also need someone to pop all these stupid lockboxes I keep accumulating.

Beyond that, pretty uneventful in my gaming life.
