A… bow?

On Friday, instead of doing our standard main ICC10 run, we did an alternate run, with some mains and some alts, and some guildies that have never been in there with us before. Was eventful for me, because I was allowed to tank on Nadzia for the first time.

We cleared the first wing before the second tank had to finally give in to his guest aggro, that had already been placing him afk repeatedly throughout the night, extending it far longer than it needed to be… So with steam lost, we called it after Saurfang went down, and we failed to make it through the Val’kyr trash for an extra emblem.

I definitely enjoyed myself. I love being in the middle of the action, but not dead center like I am when I heal… Healing, just tends to give me a stroke every time I have a go at it. Plus, there’s few things as great as a bear butt rocket to summarize a night.

Next night brought in a new raid for Dominika, and after 10 straight weeks of no bow… [Njordnar Bone Bow] finally dropped. I just… for the most part, sat in quiet shock the rest of the night. I wasn’t expecting it. Rolls, even if there were another hunter, weren’t allowed… it went straight to me as per one of the guild leader’s words. The bow though, did raise an interesting question… As how do I see, aim, or breathe when prepping to fire. If you look at my armory, glance at my pose, and try to answer that question for me.

Sunday night we didn’t have the right combination of people to continue either of the runs, so instead, we went into ToGC and made it up to Anub’arak, with I believe 41 tries still left (we had a very bad combination for the faction champions). I received [Collar of Ceaseless Torment], which merely upgraded the exact same normal mode piece. I believe the raid lock is being extended so we can make another run at Anub this week, since our only goal is really just the achievement, and gear is a non-issue for pretty much everyone that was there.

Monday night continued again, without the right combination to continue any run, so we did a quick regular ToC10 run with a couple new members (including a RL friend of David and I) being carried through for gear. I was able to tank again as Nadzia and had a blast with it. The friend, Spencer, is a coworker of David’s that he goes to the gym and sometimes tabletop games with. He so far has brought over his paladin, Dorazio.

David’s damage has also significantly been improving on Cogswell. He can now sustain 5600dps on a boss… the only issue is his overall damage is still low. Warlocks are in definite need of buffing I think, as he has all the best gear available to him at the moment. He long maxed out the amount he can buy with emblems, and is now all a matter of being lucky with drops (which so far is proving difficult with his boots and wrists).

Felka has been receiving attention for the mere fact, I’m keeping to my earlier decision of not tanking heroics as bear. I now have her at a 4500 GearScore, and pretty quickly growing, as there are still several guildies trying to gear up their alts, or just simply want to tag along with a tank to make their queues short. Gear is still slacking and gimpy… but I’ve now bought four pieces of her T9, the off tier helm, and am aiming at her boots next if the ones from FoS continue refusing to drop. I now have over 33k health unbuffed, and sit around 35k with just my sanctuary buff on. I won’t be pleased with her till I see her health sit around 40k unbuffed though, so still a very long way left to go. Right now I’m quite glad I don’t have to stress about her defense cap anymore at least, was having a very hard time maintaining it for awhile… now I keep at a steady 448, and I’m capable of gemming and enchanting stamina instead.
