Paying Bills
The new expansion seems promising, I thought that about mines of moria (sp?) as well though.
How do those two new jobs play, any good?
They’re not bad really. Warden you have to memorize which gambits to use and runekeeper is pretty similar to scholar in several ways as how you’re currently attuned will determine which abilities you can use (nuke or heal). I’ve so far only played RNK up to 24 and as a healer as I was playing a mini static with David and our friend Ray… Warden I only got up to 14 and feel a bit annoyed by the gambit system.
Was thinking of starting FFXI up again, just for Dyna, but I think I would get bored very quickly. Have you and David thought about trying Aion out?
I’ve played the beta and its seems pretty cool so far, more or less a updated WOW with pretty graphics. It should be fully released by the end of the month.

Oh… forgot to mention that… dynamis has also been canceled for the past two runs due to only 10 people showing up. /mumble
We’ve had multiple people mention AION to us, along with a dozen other MMOs and none are peaking our interest. It boils down to time and money constraints, and that unless the game is totally free… we won’t even seriously consider it. David’s a bit interested in XIV, and it hasn’t peaked much of mine at all. Spending $30-50×2 plus subscription fees for a game there’s no guarantee we’ll be playing for more than three months isn’t worth the cost. Plus, I also cannot discredit and throw away five odd years worth of work in FFXI like that.

Yea I can understand the cost with the games, Jen doesn’t have an interest in Aion, if she did we probably wouldn’t get it, because of the combined cost.
If I do come back, I’ll server jump to join your Dyna, will be on ikas so BLM powa!

Due to a number of people finally getting jobs and school starting back up… it’s only been a big issue the past few weeks. Did a couple 13-15 man runs as a result. Did manage to clear Windurst with only 13.
Heeey, sorry it’s getting more and more lonely in FFXI….I really wish I could come back every now and then, I actually do miss it a lot! Well, for now, keep on trekking towards that Maat’s cap! I know you can do it! :3

Yea, it definitely is increasingly lonely… but I knew it would eventually happen in FFXI. Just kept trying to be naive and pretend I’d never see it personally myself.
If I had the energy I’d log in now and do these with you, but this surgery has kicked my ass pretty hard, not sure when I will be able to sit in front of the PC for more than 30 minutes. Hopefully soon.

Been seeing those updates on Facebook and figured~ What was the surgery for? That I never caught and just didn’t want to be one of those jerks that asked on an update for some reason >.>;
Its not something I tend to talk about since it does require some extensive descriptions sometimes. However it was for Crohn’s a disease I have had for 12 years, effects the bowel, I had 12 inches of infected bowel removed.

Doesn’t bother me any, but I understand. I know you’ve told me you had that before, and I simply forgot~ Sorry. I’ve had a friend of the past ten years with Gardner’s Disease, that and my family in general is pretty gross… so descriptions don’t bother me any, but I understand fully if you don’t want to describe
I play an RK (Kastagarian) and I often group with my gf (Nim) who is also a hunter. The DPS these to can can put out is crazy we burn through mobs rather quick. I can’t wait to see what the two of them can do at 60.
Btw, I really like the site. Not sure if it was posted on the Kins site or on the forums but have been reading it for at least two weeks now.

Lol… I always feel I’m anonymous and unseen whenever I write, always takes me off guard each time I see a new commenter, hehe. I posted a link in my introduction post and it’s also in my signature, so yea, you most likely found it on OME’s site… has to be, since I rarely post on forums anywhere as is
My other two characters are obviously minstrel and burglar… neither can do great damage (I actually think my mini out damages my burg flat out, even though I’ve had her built for healing and very few of her abilities crit). Just the absolute contrast between those two and the hunter’s damage is insane, lol. I can definitely see why it’s such a popular class (as if I didn’t before, just playing it really makes it scream at me).
I think my biggest hurdle is seeing if I can motivate myself to level through Moria another two times. /groan

I have heard a lot of people don’t really like Moria all that much. I guess I will find out why soon enough. Also would love to see what this turtle thing is all about.
I will have more time to level now that I have put “that other game” to the side.

We’re 57 on our duo characters now, but I’m doubtful we’ll hit 60 before Mirkwood and ever see Turtle in a real sense. Old raids disappear and people are rarely willing to go back to them once the gear is outdated.
Moria is hated so much because it’s a literal maze, and the tunnels are narrow making highly aggressive and linking mobs a nightmare to fight in closed areas. It was wonderful to see at first… but ugh, now I can never leave fast enough.

I could make the big push to hit 60 but I did that once before in the other game and it really was not worth it. I would much rather take time, work on rep and so on.
As for raids, I am not sure how they are in this game but once I get up there if you ever want to run “Old” content please let me know. I would hate to play this game and not see all of it.

Well, David and I will always be game (so long as we have the free time) to run anything. One of David’s biggest complaints is he keeps missing out on content when it comes to MMOs because he takes so long to level up… and because of the stipulation of me having to wait on him in LOTRO, I’ve missed out on nearly everything as well~

That’s a fairly true statement of any game once they pass a certain age or someone’s been playing it for so many years. My personal reason typically stems from the game(s) losing the “new” charm in exploring zones for the first time, going through levels the first time, and just simply learning how all the mechanics work. Once that’s gone, a lot of my motivation diminishes and all I’m doing is going through the motions waiting till I reach the level cap.
Are you back to wow now or is this a temp thing?
I really want to start playing something, just not sure what.
I just cant go back to FFXI as much as I want to, I know I’ll give up on it again.

If you read my last post, you’d see I finally left XI. So many people are now gone from the game, I just lost the heart to stay around myself. WoW is still alive, thus, why I’m still playing… and doesn’t have nearly as many frustrations as LOTRO does for me.

Is it me or are there more idiots in WOW these days? All anyone talks about is gear score, who fails, “l2p” and end game. I wonder how many of the 10 million actually play to enjoy the game or get involved in the social side of it.
If you ever find yourself on Stormrage(US) I know a tank who can use a healer

It’s speculative I think. WoW and idiots seem to stick out like sore thumbs more than any other MMO I’ve really poked at (aside from freebies), mainly because it’s so popular and accessible (easy)… But I definitely ran into the same issues on FFXI the past few years, and LOTRO is creeping up with the same issues (slow, but surely).
I’ve also found it’s a percentage of those that are nastier in PuGs than anything else because they hide behind anonymity, paired with desire of just getting through a grind quickly, and the thought they’ll never see the other four people again, so it “doesn’t matter” how they behave… But get them in their guild setting and people they know, they’re generally pretty nice. Very few that are just pricks and assholes all around no matter who you are.
I’m kind of stuck on Draka… after shelling out as much money as I did just to transfer and faction change five characters (husband included)… the idea of rolling another character, even an alt… overwhelms me, as I have to justify the expense (which means play them). Plus, after healing my way through two sets of T9, my husband’s armor, and three guildies… I respec’d to feral the other day and I now tank… I’m at the point I prefer to let full parties die than cast a single rejuvination :p
